In 2015 de Kort was the first Dutch conductor in history to conduct at the Bolshoi Theatre, leading the 75th birthday gala for Vladimir Vasiliev, together with Rudolph Nureyev the most iconic danser in Russian history. Apart from a legendary danser and choreographer Vasiliev was also the former general director of the Bolshoi.
